- Vernaccia di San Gimignano Riserva DOCG
Giovanni Boccaccio, one of the greatest exponents of Italian literature, lived a few steps from San Gimignano. The beating heart of Italy and its historical path towards the Renaissance passed right through here. The famous village is the world testimony of this and has been protected by UNESCO as a common heritage since 1990.
Chianti is a unique wine land, the center of the world of wine and culture.
Precisely in this precious corner of Tuscany , in 1826 a wine farm was being conducted with the sharecropping regime, widely used at the time. Third-party land management lasted until the early 60s when Dario and Giuseppe, with their respective families, invested their savings to purchase their own land.
The terroir of this area is world famous due to its composition of marine and volcanic origin. Remains of clay and salty sands give the Vernaccia di San Gimignano white wine a unique, savory, strong and dry flavour.
As far as the red wines of this wine area are concerned, however, the chemical composition of the soil gives them a solid structure, with opaque and dark tones, but at the same time delicacy and an compliant fragrance, unique in its kind.
It was the mid-1970s when their first wine cellar was built and, subsequently, in 1998 the the wine tasting activity was started, which is now the core of an established wine company. The wine farm was baptized with the name of a saint, the blessing to its future successful activity in the wine production sector. Giovanni, Andrea and Marco perpetuate the rhythms and passions without stopping, aiming for excellent wines, mixing the past with the present with love, with the awareness that the future makes its way between today's gestures and yesterday's teachings. Beside the Varnaccia di San Gimignano a particular care is given to the vines of the company's Vermentino, unique in its kind from its vinification to its fermentation process. The guest will not miss being presented and tasting a very special local Chianti wine too, very scented on the nose though dry and full in the mouth.
The company can currently boast a high-profile adequacy for the preservation of the environment and for its energy independence.
