Thirteen generations of wine producers since 1720: the history of this estate and the family of its owners has ancient roots. The estate is located near San Gimignano, not far from the ancient Francigena pilgrims’ route; indeed, in the beginning it served as a resting place for pilgrims on their way to Rome.
Over the centuries, more plots of land and grand buildings were added to the property and the production of Tuscan wines was developed.
For the past three centuries, therefore, the art of making wine has been handed down from father to son, combining ancient traditions with new wine-making techniques.
The extensive plots of land which today are part of the estate are all cultivated as vineyards. Over the years, the winery has specialized in the production of many types of Chianti Super Tuscan wines, as well as the typical wine of this area, the white Vernaccia di San Gimignano. There are, of course, also fine Tuscan reds: Chianti Classico and Chianti Colli Senesi. They are all premium quality labels, in line with the company's philosophy.
Harvesting is done with the traditional system passed on from generation to generation: the grapes are strictly hand-picked, selecting only the best and healthiest bunches.
All subsequent operations, from destemming to fermentation, take place in the estate's cellar. At the end of the fermentation process, the wines are aged in wooden barrels and barriques. Vinification takes place in oak casks or stainless steel tanks, depending on the wines. After this phase, whose duration varies according to the type of wine being produced, the wine is bottled to complete its aging in the bottle.
