- Chianti Rufina Rosso DOCG Selection
The estate comprises 650 hectares, about 30 of which are planted with vineyards – mainly Sangiovese, Colorino, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Syrah vines destined not only for the production of some of the best Tuscan Chianti Rufina, but also of Syrah and Chardonnay wines.
We are east of Florence, on the high hills where the Chianti Rufina DOCG wine is produced, with breathtaking views of the Sieve Valley. in 1895 the current owners – a Swiss family who arrived in Tuscany in the mid 17th century – bought the villa (a former monastery dating from the late 18th century) and the surrounding land which still constitutes the beating heart of the estate.
Since the beginning of the 20th century, the estate specialized in the production of wine and extra virgin olive oil that still characterize it today, in a constant quest for excellence that they have been pursuing for five generations now.
Furthermore, since the 1970s the owners started a hospitality project with the renovation of the typical Tuscan-style farmhouses located within the property. These farmhouses, still known by their ancient names, have been finely restored in keeping with the traditional Tuscan architectural style and converted for agritourism.
Today, hospitality is the pride and added value of the company, a real five-star country estate that offers a delightful stay in the Valdisieve, a stone's throw from Florence. All the converted farmhouses boast a swimming pool and charming views of the Tuscan countryside just outside Florence with its vineyards, olive groves, sunflower fields, and rows of cypresses.
In 2008, a restaurant serving typical Tuscan cuisine from locally sourced ingredients was also added to the visitor facilities of the complex.
